Little Tawney Hall Farm
The field we use, as shown in the map, may change during the year, i.e. when grass cutting is in progress, or when animals must be moved etc. Be prepared to ask Mr.Padfield before you fly if you are in any doubt.
1. PARKING Park only where indicated on the map provided with your membership. If for any reason you cannot park in the area shown, do not park so that you will obstruct any gate, or where you will obstruct vehicle or livestock movement.
DISPLAY CLUB STICKER CLEARLY IN YOUR CAR WINDOW.
2. GENERAL Do not obstruct bridle way with bungy stake etc. Do not leave any litter. Be especially careful with drink can ring pulls. A metal object left on the ground can cause very expensive delays and possible damage to machinery when grass cutting is in process.
Dogs are not allowed
Do not light fires or barbecues, and be extra careful with cigarettes etc. especially when the grass is long and dry.
FLYING FIELD RULES
Frequency Control: Peg Board. First person on the field must place the peg board at or on the flight line or pits area, whichever is safest and is clearly visible. Last to leave removes pegboard from field. DO NOT SWITCH ON UNLESS YOU HAVE THE APPROPRIATE PEG.
Frequencies: 74. 76. 78. 80. 82. 84. 86. 88. 90. Use odd numbers only with agreement of other pilots.
DO NOT USE FREQUENCIES BELOW 74. POWER FLYERS IN NEARBY FIELD USE THESE.
Flying: Do not fly low over any farm buildings.
Always be aware of low flying full size aircraft, especially if flying alone. The farm is on the edge of the normal landing approach to Stapleford Airfield. There should be good separation; however the rule must be, if in doubt take avoiding action.
GLIDERS AND ELECTRIC ONLY
Forest road Fairlop
The following rules apply to the site known as The Forest Road Extension Playing Field, situated at the corner of Elmbridge Road and Forest Road. The purpose of these rules is to protect the clubs continued use of the site and to avoid accidents
1. At all times, models must be flown in a manner which will cause no inconvenience or danger to local residents and property, to by-standers , spectators or any other user of the field, and with road traffic.
2. Where possible, models must be flown within the perimeter of the field, but when in lift, models must be flown with a view to a safe return and landing within the field.
3. No model to be launched within 100 metres of any fence.
4. After launch, pilot must return to flight line or flying group as established on the day for safety reasons.
5. No flying over the houses at any time.
6. No low passes.
7. Do not park to obstruct any entrance.
8. FREQUENCY CONTROL. Only 35mhz. EVEN NUMBERS TO BE USED. Each member must provide his own Peg Board and Peg, this to show frequency being used and members name. On the field, peg boards are to be placed in the pits area in a line, and where possible, in number order. If more than one member is using a frequency, then pegboards of the same frequency should be place d behind one another. ONLY ONE PEG should be used and no transmitter should be switched on without possession of the correct frequency peg. After each flight, the frequency peg should be returned to the front position peg board, and the transmitter aerial retracted.
PEG BOARDS. Minimum dimension should be 3 x 4” mounted on a strong stake. They should be coloured with orange background, with frequency numbers and members name in white AERIAL PEGS. Should have an orange disk with white numerals approx 1.5” dia AERIAL PENNANTS. Should be orange with white numerals displaying frequency in use. An additional orange ribbon can be used for wind indication.
9. HAND LAUNCH GLIDERS. Models which comply with current B.A.R.C.S. rules are allowed to operate on 27mhz. all requirements for frequency control are as for 35 MHz. except for peg board and pennants which in this case will show the colour of the frequency in use.
10. GUEST FLYERS. Shall be accompanied by and the responsibility of the host member. DONT FORGET the council expect that all model flyers will be insured. Please advise any committee member if you feel that the actions of a fellow member or any other person are likely to jeopardize the club or its continued usage of the field.It is not safe to attempt to fly when football games are being played. Use utmost discretion when wind direction may appear to allow you to fly.
Do not fly if official football matches are in progress.
